"Trendong" topics

Shoutitout has introduced a new feature, Trending topics. This is a take of on a Twitter feature that has spread threw sites like Bing, Google, and Yahoo but its still a great idea except for one thing! They made a typo when the added it and posted "Trendong topics" instead of Trending topics it has been fixed now and this new feature will do well with the Shoutitout world. You can accesses it from the bottom navigation bar on Shoutitout.

Your photos just got a little more fancy

Dailybooth a site similar to Twitter with only one difference, you post photos instead of small messages. Well, they've gone into version 2.0 with not many differences the only major one being the home page as shown in a picture below. This is and insisting upgrade to compete agents sites like Twitpic and Flickr. Dailybooth just went up a level in awesome.

Google Chrome: FAIL

Google Chrome my favorite browser has just made a major FAIL. When I was on Orkut a few minutes ago trying to get advertising space Google Chrome decided its own page didn't exist. I call that a epic Fail. Have you had these issues with Google Chrome as well? If you have leave a comment and tell us them

Youtube IS HD incase your forgot

Youtube has a new feature, well it's not really a feature but what it is is when you hit "HD" it pops a logo up that says Youtube HD as shown below. Is this there way of reminding us that there the biggest best video site on the web or did they just feel like posting that so you knew it was HD or not HD? What do you think?

Bebo bubble tagging

You can now "Bubble tag" on Bebo. It is a feature that allows you to tag someone in a photo and say something like "I love you" or if your one of those media obsessed people take a picture of someone post it and then bubble tag "will you marry me?" Thats just an idea though. This feature seems quit insisting and we think it will do very well.

Yooskin: Make your Yahoo sexy

Yooskin is a new start up coming out at an un-known date. Like Goovle you can add a skin to the search engine, unlike Groovle in one way. Its Yahoo not Google. We think it will be very popular because Yahoo has never had a feature like this before so Groovle watch out, you just got some tough competition.

The next web gets a makeover... we think

(Update): It was just a glitch the site has returned to normal.

The next web a tech news service got a make over. At lest we think it did. The site is displayed as a fancy RSS feed there is an option at the bottom to "Turn mobile off" but when we try it it refreshed and keeps it on. Since we have never seen Thenextweb mobile we don' know if this is there mobile site or not. All we know is the articles are still no Thenextweb's original pages so if you work for Thenextweb could you explain this to us?

Today isn't a good day to get more followers (Worm)

Just in time for the end of the holiday season: We’ve received multiple reports that a new worm that promises the gift of more followers is spreading quickly on Twitter. Unfortunately, the only thing that the sites involved seem to do is use your account to spam your followers.

One of the sites involved asks for your Twitter username and password and appears to be associated with the Twitter account @GetFreeFollowers, which has been suspended by Twitter. Another that I came across may be far more damaging, as it appears to be spreading malware through what look to be Youtube videos (but actually work like koobface). A similar scam also seems to be fairly widespread in Portuguese.

We’re still digging to get to the bottom of this scam, but with “Twitter Followers” hitting trending topics, it’s clear many people are falling for something today. We’ll update when we know more — in the meantime, be sure to keep your credentials safe and be dubious of video links.

Blogger was just down... right?

Blogger the service we use for our blog and one of the biggest sites was just down for a few minutes. We think. We went on Google Chrome to post something and when we went here it said it was temporally down, then we went to downforeveryoneorjustme and check blogger.com and it said it was down so we went on Safari and entered blogger.com and it worked? Did anyone try to use Blogger and couldn't get on if so comment below and tell us.

If you have a cell phone theirs a 80% chance your screwed

A German software engineer and a Encryption code specialist told a group of hackers they had hacked the call encrypt code for cell phones. However, other security experts disagree, saying the crack now puts mobile interception of the majority of non-3G cellphone calls within reach of “any reasonable well-funded criminal organization.” Simon Bransfield-Garth, CEO of London-based Cellcrypt, said the net effect of Nohl and the company’s work would likely “reduce the time to break a GSM call from weeks to hours.” The current GSM encryption scheme is known as the A5/1 standard, based on a 64-bit encryption scheme. A newer specification based on more modern and tougher to crack 128-bit encryption called A5/3 has been available since 2007, but few network operators have undertaken the expense to upgrade their networks.
Nohl says the project was meant to point out the vulnerability of the current 64-bit system and “push operators to adopt better security measures for mobile phone calls.” He says his team took precautions to keep the effort within legal boundaries, and “are not recommending people use this information to break the law. What we are doing is trying to goad the world’s wireless operators to use better security.”
You probably don’t have to worry about sniffers on the other end of your next wireless call just yet, but it seems like 64-bit GSM encryption might not be long for this world. Do you think Nohl’s “white hat” efforts will have the desired effect? How do you think carriers should respond to the crack?

Shoutitout: We're music is going to soon be playing

Shoutitout an Lala have struck a deal so that Shoutitout will post a music player instead of a link to any music file URL that has the domain lala.com in it. This might be the edge Lala has been looking for over sites like last.fm and iLike who struck a deal with Myspace. Never the less Lala isn't the only music site getting in on this deal Playlist is in and it is rumored that their have been emails sent between Shoutitout and a music URL shortener called Tinysong witch would mean you could post any song on Shoutitout.

This months site compare (Microblogs)

5. Sweetter

Shoutitout HACKED

Official link shortener of Shout it out

Shoutitout the start up microblogging site has just declared l.pr its official link shortener. Like Twitter saying bit.ly is its link shortener Shoutitout has done the same. There is only two differences. One is Shoutitout doesn't need a link shortener links don't count agents your character count and two l.pr actually can make links longer because they allow you to do things like http://l.pr/hey-bob-come-check-out-this-video which will be great for scammers and spam.

Photobucket Re-designs

Photobucket, one of the biggest photo sharing sites, has re-designed their site. We first noticed the new tab bars then the new bottom portion of site. Plus when you upload a photo the design there is completely different and best of all there is now albums so you can create photo albums to share your photos in on Photobucket!
