3 Reasons why Friendfeed isn't fun anymore
Friendfeed isn't fun because no one is on it. When you go an ask everyone you know if they have a Friendfeed you might get 3 yeses and the rest would be noes.
2. Friendfeed isn't "in" right now
Friendfeed just isn't in right now. Its owned by Facebook but people use Facebook not Friendfeed and its just not really "in."
3. There NOTHING NEW!
Friendfeed never comes out with anything new. There last big feature was the buy by Facebook and thats all they have mentioned recently, if Friendfeed wants to stay popular they have to come out with some new features.

Whats wrong with China you ask? They don't like porn
Chinese mobile providers will monitor text messages in the country for “illegal or unhealthy content” and suspend service when a customer inadvertently sends up a red flag, according to a report in The New York Times.
Companies like China Mobile will turn the potentially offending messages over to the authorities to be reviewed. If the customer is cleared of any wrongdoing, his or her service will be restored, but it doesn’t look like the mobile providers or authorities are going out of their way to clearly define what constitutes an offense.
Police will provide words to scan for to catch potential criminals in the name of fighting pornography. We reported a couple of weeks ago that more than 5,000 arrests were made on pornography charges in 2009 to prevent the scourge from “overwhelming the country’s Internet and threatening the emotional health of children.”
We’re not sure which words are on the list, but the Times quotes Beijing University telecommunications professor Kan Kaili who claims that “they are doing wide-ranging checks, checking anything and everything, even if it is between a husband and wife.”
Married couples? That could be a problem for the pornography flags, people. This seems to be par for the course if we’re getting the full story here in the West, though — Google has threatened to leave the country if China doesn’t make an effort to improve freedom of speech.

A song about everything that matters
First China now Germany
When the Federal Office for Security in Information Technology issued a public
warning to not use Internet Explorer earlier this week, I was proud of my country.
That did not last long.
Yesterday, Google Germany confirmed that the German newspaper publishers association (BDZV), Microsoft owned Ciao and online maps service Euro-Cities AG called the German cartel authorities to investigate Google’s business practices, for various different reasons.
At the heart of their complaint they sing along the well-known Rupert Murdoch idea: “We have no clue how to innovate our own business model, so we’d love to get a share of Google’s ads revenues!”
The rationale behind it is the assertion, by grabbing parts of their “valuable content”, created at “extremely high production costs” and inserting it into search results, Google would violate the publishers’ intellectual property rights.
Someone has yet to explain to me, how Google could potentially do this with only some two to three lines of text displayed underneath each link in their result listings.
Euro-Cities AG, a company offering an online maps service and one that I’ve never ever heard of before, additionally feels unhappy with Google delivering its own Maps services for free.
With ad revenues rapidly decreasing in traditional print over here, simply trying to reach out for Google’s pockets seems outrageous to me.
Would intellectual property rights be the real driver, simple technical means to prevent Google’s crawlers from indexing a site exist since more than a decade. But then again, publishers obviously do like that part of Google’s business. Being found by millions of daily Google users is okay, while Google making money by providing the best search service in the world is not?
A clear case of double standards.
To make matters worse our ministry of justice, a lady named Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, on Thursday stated, she is not too happy about the “megalomania” and is ready to act. “If this does not occur, then perhaps we will be required to step in as lawmakers,” she said.
Google Germany spokesman Kay Oberbeck remains relaxed:
“We would be happy to explain our products and business practices to the German authorities and are confident, that they fully comply with German and European law.”
Hopefully, our anti-trust officials will act commonsensical and deny to take action. Maybe we can also find somebody, who takes a few hours to explain Mrs. Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, the basics of how the Internet works.
As an immediate action to boost their own credibility, I’d like to recommend to the German newspaper publishers association, to remove the embedded Google Map from their driving directions page and maybe pay for one from Euro-Cities AG.

Googles search for iPhone and Android are down.
This is a strange anomaly that we’ve just come across. It looks as if Google Mobile search has taken a tumble. Our attempts to search for anything on three different phones (two iPhones and a Nexus One) have come up empty. Tweets are rolling in about the problem too. However, it looks like other phones, including the BlackBerry, can still access Google Search. Google web search is also still up.
Google is having some type of issue, but whether it’s a server issue, a bug, or something else, we don’t know. We’ve contacted Google and will get back to you when we learn more about the outage.
