One of the most followed Twitter users Ellen DeGeneres has joined Foursquare. We can confirm its a real account because not only is it connect to her Twitter but she has also tweeted about Foursquare. Even though Foursquare isn't actually the biggest geolocation site it will be, soon. Loopt currently somewhere between 4,000,000 and 5,000,000 users is leading the way but Foursquare recently passed 3,000,000 after just a few months before dancing past 2,000,000. Foursquare is also allot more successful when it comes to celebrities and companies joining location sites Foursquare defiantly leads the way followed probably by Loopt or Gowalla. Foursquare is on its way to taking over the location department, even though Facebook has 250 times more users than Foursquare barley any users have used Facebook places.

Advanced preview of Shoutitout Mobile 2.0
Shoutitout is in somewhat preparation of launching a new extremely nice second version of its mobile site. We along with a few other users were invited to help test it today, we are the second wave allowed to test it so far we can estimate that its up to about 8 users who have access to the new extremely changed mobile site. The events feed is simply saying there are no near events planned and login allows you to login via Facebook but not Twitter at this time. We will keep you updated as they launch new features!

Gowalla adds events
Gowalla the second in command in the battle to be the top location based site has launched a new en genius feature. Events, reports say that it allows you to post an even for people to check in at when they show up for it and they can also confirm that they are coming like a RSVP similar to Facebook, Myspace, and SocailGo. I'd say this feature could rise them above Foursquare or at lest make sure Brightkite and Loopt don't come up from behind.
