According the the Twitter blog there have been some record breaking TPS (tweets per second). The Mexico goal that tied VS South Africa in the opening game broke some records, Brazil scoring there first goal in there 2-1 win over Korea broke a few more records than the Mexico goal, and Japans goal agents Cameroon to steal victory broke even more than that, but the biggest thing in the last week has nothing to do with the Fifa World Cup but was the time after the Lakers won the NBA Finals. This generated 3,085 TPS. Twitter averages about 750 TPS and about 65 million Tweets a day well think about how many tweets they must have had on the day of Game 7 of the NBA finals and I can now see how Twitter could have some over capticy issues.
